With the BW 197 DH-5, Bomag is creating a new class in compaction technology.
So far, a working width of 190 cm (75 inch) hasn't existed in this weight class worldwide. So, this manoeuvrable single drum roller almost achieves the surface coverage of the 10 t class and complements the product range of the world market leader in the 7 t- and 11 t single drum rollers series.
Where high surface coverage is needed, the BW 197 DH-5 speeds up the rolling process significantly. Typical applications are, for example, car parks, building foundations, access- and exit roads on motorways, minor roads, as well as forest- and agricultural roads.
The Ecomode function, which comes as standard, ensures automatic speed control and significantly reduces the fuel consumption of the high-torque engine.
The optional Ecostop function, which switches off the engine automatically after a defined time of idling, prevents unnecessary fuel consumption in addition. This is efficiency which pays quickly in terms of shorter construction times and lower costs.
Of course the BW 197 DH-5 with the Stage 4/ TIER 4 final engine meets highest emission legislation.
Up to 56 % gradients
The innovative dual circuit drive system with twin pumps for the front and rear axle provides optimum traction. This enables the machine to overcome obstacles effortlessly and climb gradients of up to 56 % forwards as well as backwards.
Working comfort is a key feature
Performance needs to be handled. That is why Bomag engineers have laid out the operating console clearly; even less experienced machine operators can quickly master all functions. The large windscreen allows a good view of work on the site so that this highly manoeuvrable and compact machine can be operated safely, even in confined spaces.
Here and there
This BW 197 DH-5 roller can be transported very easily to the next site afterwards. It can be loaded quickly and easily, thanks to the small dimensions and easy access eyelets for lashing down. The low height of 2.80 m offers a flexible choice of transportation. Site managers today demand smooth and economic transportation and operation.
